IoT and Wastewater Pumping with a Robot

Now that you know the definition of IoT, you may be surprised to learn that the DIP System® has been a part of “IoT” for many years. In fact, the DIP System® can be labeled as a robot. As robots are gaining favor these days, it’s only fitting to add the DIP System® to this list. The DIP System® began its life in 2003 and has become a commercial success based on its performance. Just as other robots have done.

Self-Cleaning Pumping Systems Solve
Aging Infrastructure Challenges By Jon Dunham

For all these many years, wastewater has been collected in wet wells located throughout municipalities.
The hours and equipment used in cleaning and disposing of wet well trash, un-clogging pumps, and hauling debris is costly and very wasteful.  This does not have to be done any longer.
Years ago, the Europeans solved these issues. A lift station pumping system was developed that no longer held raw sewage in a neighborhood, while emitting H₂S, collecting wipes and other debris, no longer required float switches, and waiting to reach a level for a pump down.
What used to be wet wells are now clean, dry, equipment rooms with stainless steel, sealed, pumping systems. ...

“DIP” – Direct Inline Pumping
Recently, Veolia™ gained a large number of new contracts in the South of France for upgrading 10 municipal lift stations. A new station is being installed in Gonfaron. This success is thanks to the know-how of the Frejus factory service. With 4 years of DIP System® experience, they are experts in using a technology combining innovation and reliability with the DIP System. The process is simple, efficient, and cost effective.

Years ago, the Europeans solved these issues. A lift station pumping system was developed that no longer held raw sew-age in a neighborhood, no longer emitted H₂S, is impervious to collecting wipes and other debris, no longer required float switches, and ended holding raw sewage to reach a level for a pump down. (This lift station pumping system included self-cleaning pumps.) Wet wells were no longer used or needed. Those wet wells that you are now using, draw down or pump down batch flows and place stress on the treatment plant bi-omass, the valves, and the piping system with the “all or nothing” submersible pumping actions.

The solution to ending what you are wasting is being used in thousands of applications (over 1,100 in France alone). The DIP System, named for “direct inline pumping,” features pumps that automatically clean themselves, shred the trash, self-regulate the flow required, and can be managed with a smart phone, a tablet, or a desktop from anywhere at any time.

After 2,000 Years … New Wastewater Technology … And It’s Not Gravity!

"Everywhere we turn today, there are articles describing an industry roundtable finding – a publication noting deficiencies in our industry, or our government agencies asking questions. All are asking for, and looking for, “innovation” and
"sustainability". It is here, now."
